Warm Broccoli Detox Soup

Many detox recipes involve cold salads and unappetising juices completely unsuitable for a comforting winter cleanse. This soup recipe uses steamed broccoli, meaning it retains all of its raw nutrients but is still warm enough for a chilly January evening. Combined with spinach, celery and avocado, it makes for a perfect detox recipe that is substantial enough to be filling and bursting with flavour thanks to the nutrient rich ginger, cumin and garlic.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 an Avocado
  • 6-8 Heads of Broccoli
  • 1/3 of a Red Onion
  • 1 Celery Stick
  • Large Handful of Spinach
  • 1 Inch of Root Ginger
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic (to taste)
  • Cumin (optional)

Lightly steam the broccoli for 5-6 minutes and then blend with the remaining ingredients. Serve immediately to enjoy while still warm.
