REVIEW: INIS Energy of the Sea Nourishing Hand Cream
By Orla, November 4, 2016
Inis is primarily an Irish fragrance brand that captures the energy and spirit of the sea in its products. As the core funder of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, Inis is genuinely dedicated to protecting and conserving our oceans and the dolphins and whales that call the Irish sea home.
The Inis Energy of the Sea range includes candles, perfumes, diffusers, hand creams, soaps, body lotions, shower gels and exfoliating sea scrubs
Inis Energy of the Sea Nourishing Hand Cream
I’m always on the lookout for a nice hand cream but as winter closes in on us, I was keen to find a new hand cream that would soften up and protect my hands as the cold winter air dries them up.
Ingredients
The Inis Energy of the Sea hand cream is enriched with sea minerals, seaweed extracts and shea butter. It also contains coconut oil and argan oil to nourish and moisturise the skin, nails and cuticles.
While the product contain no colouring additives, sulphates or nasty parabens, there is parfum and alcohol present.
Smell
The scent is the product’s biggest selling point as it is the brand’s signature unisex scent. It is said to embody the magic and clarity of the seaside and I do agree.
It has a musky, refreshing scent with notes of sandalwood and the sea. Floral notes also peak through from the presence of the muguet flower, which is known as the Lily of the Valley.
The scent lingers on the hands long after application which is a welcome bonus. If you’re partial to sweeter floral scents, this deep and refreshing scent might be too musky for you but I’m a fan.
Texture
The cream is quite thick in texture but it spreads very easily and absorbs really quickly. For example you can resume daily activities like typing within less than a minute of application and there will be no oily residue left on your keyboard.
Packaging
The cream itself is housed in a matte white 75ml tube featuring the brand’s signature white and blue minimalistic branding. The squeezy tube administers the product well with very little wastage or spillage.
The box is more of a glossy finish and really captures the spirit of the sea. It’s simplistic in style but effective at communicating that at the essence of the product is the scent of the sea.
How to Use
Apply liberally as often as you like (but a little goes a long way so the tube will last you for a good while).. I like to apply it every time after I wash my hands, before I go out into the cold air and then whenever I feel my hands are a little rough to the touch.
Results
My favourite thing about the cream is the fact that my hands feel super soft for an hour or more after application and my second favourite thing is that the refreshing scent of the cream lingers on your hands and in the air for so long after application. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving!
I would recommend this if you’re looking for a new hand cream. It retails online for just €11.95 and as mentioned above, a little goes a long way so you will definitely get the value out of your money.
