Flourish Organics Facial Polish
We’ve been trying out this facial polish for a few months now and although it’s not suitable for every skin type, it’s worked a treat for us. It’s essentially an exfoliating facial scrub and if it’s good enough for 5 star spas, it’s good enough for us.
Ingredients
The main base of this facial polish is sweet almond oil and cocoa butter. Sweet almond oil is really effective at clearing out pores and preventing breakouts, while cocoa butter is deeply hydrating and is widely regarded as a powerful anti-aging ingredient.
Other ingredients include:
- Jojoba oil which is great for reducing oiliness
- Sunflower oil which gives you soft, smooth skin
- Ylang ylang oil which has great antiseptic and healing properties
- Sandalwood oil which has reduces the appearance of blemishes and scars
Smell
The scent off this is subtle with a hint of that sweet almond oil coming through. It’s a pleasant and refreshing scent to clean your face with.
Texture
The texture is one of the things we loved about this facial polish. It’s really dense and thick, but not too much so, and most importantly it has lots and lots of tiny granules for a decent exfoliating experience. The exfoliant is Jojoba grain which is a wax so it actually begins to melt as you work it into the skin.
It’s one of our pet hates when an exfoliating product is really sparse on exfoliants but this facial polish really delivers on that front.
How To Use
Because this facial polish is so good at exfoliating the skin, you really only want to use it twice a week. Any more than that and you might cause your skin to produce too much oil.
After you’ve thoroughly cleansed your skin, dab your face with warm water to open up the pores and really lightly massage the facial polish into your skin. Rinse off with warm water and again, splash your face with cold water to close up your pores a little.
NB: It might be a bit intense for extremely sensitive skin and it’s not suitable for pregnant woman or those with nut allergies.
Packaging
The polish comes in a lovely chrome-like 100ml bottle with the brand’s signature white and green label. It looks sophisticated and fresh and the dispenser works perfectly.
Results
It does a great job at cleaning out pores and leaving you with really soft, revived skin.
Where To Get It
The brand supplies to a number of 5 star hotels in Kerry and credits their success to the power of word-of-mouth. Experience Flourish Organics in a luxury setting at The Spa at Muckross Park Hotel and Sámas Spa at Park Hotel Kenmare or buy this Facial Polish online for €19.50.
It really does last quite a long time because you’re not using it every day and the amount of exfoliants in it means you don’t have to use a huge amount each time.
