Mindful Meditation Classes

By , October 29, 2010

Close your eyes and take a breath.

Being aware of your breathing can help you learn to de-stress, even if only for a few seconds. While it’s important to be aware of the problems we need to solve in our daily lives sometimes we over think them leading to further frustration. The brief moments of clarity from time spent closing our eyes or practicing deep breathing can help to pave the way for a more relaxed outlook.

Mindful meditation is the practice of impartial observation and learning to gain clarity through breathing and relaxation. Rather than being focused, you are mindful of your surroundings, using breathing to anchor you to the present moment.

The concentration practice can help you to learn to block out mental background noise and focus more clearly on objectives, a valuable tool for busy modern life. This experience may be enjoyable to some satisfying, relaxing even inspiring. After all, the origin of the word inspiration comes from the Latin, “to breathe in”.

Mindful Meditation Practice takes place every Wednesday evening at 8.30 pm at Temple Spa in Westmeath and is facilitated by spa director, Declan Fagan. Declan also offers mindful meditation practice and other relaxation methods in the workplace and also for community and voluntary groups.
