[Comfort Zone] Lip Blooming Gloss Review

By , January 18, 2011

Comfort Zone’s Lip Blooming range offers a balm, scrub and gloss to care for the condition and contour of the lips. The products claim to nourish the lips with fruit and flower extracts while increasing fullness using active ingredient palmitoyl oligopeptide, which is said to increase collagen production and help restructure damaged skin.

I tried out the gloss, which is intended to hydrate and plump lips whether used on its own or over lipstick. Used on bare lips it gave a nice shine, not too sticky or gluey, and lasted for nearly four hours. There is no overwhelming fragrance from the product which I was quite happy with, and it did indeed moisturise like a lip balm with the look of a gloss.

When tried over lipstick I was pleasantly surprised that it was just as hydrating while adding an extra layer of shine. The Vitamin E in the gloss is especially good for treating chapped lips during the winter and provides a welcome and attractive alternative to traditional lip balms which can be quite drying in the long run. My lips were in noticeably better condition after use, and thankfully the improved fullness was not in trout pout territory. One of the best lip glosses I’ve used and I’d happily opt for it again over many of the big-name brands.

Comfort Zone products are available from Fota Island Hotel & Spa, Co. Cork; Harmony – A Touch of Spa, Co. Cork; Sanctuary Spa, Co. Offaly; and Heaven Scent Beauty Spa, Co. Galway.
