Bia Beauty

Bia Beauty is a new Irish skincare brand that revolves around natural plant ingredients. Taking its name from the Irish word for food, it promises to “feed your skin” with nourishing products.
Brand founder Tracey Ryan is a Herbal Science graduate with a passion for plants. As part of her degree, she undertook the task of creating, marketing and selling a natural moisturiser. The response at local farmers’ markets was so positive that she decided to continue the business after graduation.
As well as the original moisturiser, Tracey went on to develop exfoliants, eye gels, day and night creams, body butters, hand creams, serums and lip balms. The line expanded further with baby and maternity products following her own pregnancy.
Product ingredients include oils such as sweet almond, thistle, castor and coconut; herbs such as calendula, arnica, comfrey and mallow; and essential oils of mandarin, orange, rose and neroli. Also to be found are a number of natural butters and distilled floral waters.
With production taking place in Cork, the various lotions are all handmade by Tracey herself. No product ingredients are tested on animals and a number of the products are also suitable for vegans.
In July 2012, the growing business was awarded a €10,000 investment by a leading Irish entrepreneur. Products are currently only available from pharmacies in Cork, but stockists are expected to increase over the coming months. You can also shop online at www.biabeauty.com.
