A new luxury coastal spa overlooking Sheephaven Bay in north Donegal is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about wellness destinations along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Spá Na Mara, located at Donegal Boardwalk Resort near Carrigart, officially opened in December and has already seen extraordinary interest from both Irish and international visitors seeking slower, more scenic wellness experiences on Ireland’s Atlantic coastline.
The spa was designed to embrace its natural surroundings, with uninterrupted views across Sheephaven Bay visible throughout the thermal suite experience.
The Thermal Suite Experience
Guests can enjoy a vitality pool, outdoor hot tubs, plunge tub, Himalayan salt sauna, steam room, heated loungers and relaxation suite while watching the tides roll in and the ever-changing Atlantic skies move across the bay.
Since launch, demand for the new spa has exceeded expectations, with spa weekends regularly selling out and social media videos of the coastal setting generating more than one million views.
“We knew the location was special, but the reaction since opening has been incredible,” said George and AnnLouise Scott – Resort Managers.
“There seems to be a growing appetite for places where people can properly switch off, reconnect with nature and experience wellness in a more meaningful setting. Being right on the edge of the Sea gives the spa a completely different atmosphere throughout the day.”

Part of Donegal Boardwalk Resort, which includes 27 lodges and 10 luxury suites, Spá Na Mara forms part of a growing trend for slower escapes and immersive nature-based experiences.
Spá Na Mara is open to both residents and day guests.
