Irish Spa Awards 2014 Reveal Best Spas in Ireland

The Irish Spa Awards 2014 have released the overall winners of the inaugural spa, beauty and wellness awards.

The awards, which were sponsored by Irish Country Magazine and supported by Fáilte Ireland, reward and recognise the most innovative and exceptional spa and wellness businesses in Ireland.

Within the 22 award categories featured, The Irish Spa Awards seen an astounding 233 entries from spas, salons, therapists and beauty products all over Ireland.

After receiving tens of thousands of votes from the public to determine the shortlisted nominees, a panel of 11 judges from the industry then evaluated the shortlist to reach a conclusion on the overall winners. Voting results were officially tabulated by BJK Accountants in Dublin.

One thing that is particularly noticeable throughout the overall winners is the clear variety. There are winners hailing from each of the four provinces, varying in size and type.

It’s refreshing to see businesses of all sizes being recognised equally for their hard work and determination within the spa, beauty and wellness sector.

Unfortunately, as with everything in life, there could only be one winner per category. However, the close runners up have been listed as highly commended, which can be seen on the website here.

2. Best Destination or Resort Spa – ESPA at the Powerscourt Hotel, Co. Wicklow

3. Best Day Spa or Beauty Salon (Less than 6 rooms) – Bella Beauty, Ballina, Co.Mayo

4. Best Day Spa or Beauty Salon (More than 6 rooms) – The Buff Day Spa, Co. Dublin

5. Best Body Therapist – Joanne Quinn, Druids Glen, Co. Wicklow

6. Best Facial Therapist – Sinead Conneely, Elysium Day Spa and Laser Clinic, Co. Galway

7. Best Employee – Kathy Kiely, Rainforest Day Spa, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow

8. Industry Professionals Choice – ESPA at The Europe, Co. Kerry

9. Customer Choice – ESPA at Powerscourt Spa Hotel, Co. Wicklow

10. Best Indigenous Irish Treatment – Honey & Irish Whiskey Salted Body Scrub by Nádur Spa at The Ballygarry House Hotel, Co. Kerry

11. Best Marketing Campaign – Rainforest Day Spa, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow

12. Best Spa Shop – Farnham Estate, Co. Cavan

13. Best Website – Rainforest Day Spa, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow

14. Entrepreneur – Mark Walton of VOYA Seaweed Baths, Strandhill, Co. Sligo

15. Best Green Spa or Beauty Salon – VOYA Seaweed Baths, Strandhill, Co. Sligo
