Homemade Body Scrubs To Have Your Skin Feeling Silky Smooth

It is important to exfoliate your skin at least once a week to remove dead skin cells, keeping your skin silky soft. If you are lover of false tan then It is important you exfoliate your skin the day before applying your false tan in order to remove the dead cells which will help your tan to last longer and will be less likely to flake.

Scrumptious Sugar Scrub

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • Optional-Your preference of essential oil

What I love about this scrub is it is so easy and quick to make. All you need to do is mix the above ingredients together and store in an airtight jar. Next time you are going to exfoliate just take a tbsp of the scrub exfoliate into the skin and rinse.

Green Tea Salt Scrub

Ingredients

  • 3 tsp epsom salts
  • 3 tsp baking soda
  • 1 bag of green tea leaves
  • 4 tbsp your favourite moisturising oil

Green Tea offers numerous benefits to your body inside and out. I’m sure a lot of you have sipped on green tea but have you ever tried a green tea scrub? Well now’s your chance.

Combine the epsom salts, baking soda, green tea leaves and gradually work in the oil. Apply to the skin in circular motions and rinse off revealing silky soft skin.

Luscious Lemon Scrub

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • Juice from one lemon
  • Zest from 2 lemons
  • A few drops of your favourite essential oil

If you are prone to oily skin then this is the scrub for you. The olive oil helps to balance out The lemon is great for cleansing the skin.

First combine the olive oil and sugar, followed by the lemon juice and zest. Finish by adding your favourite essential oil, perhaps rosemary as it is invigorating and great for your skin. Like the other scrubs apply to you skin in circular motions and rise off.

Cool Coconut

Ingredients

  • ½ cup shea/coconut butter
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ cup sugar

If you suffer from dry skin or just feel you want to really moisturise your skin then the coconut butter scrubs ticks all the boxes. Exfoliating allows your skin to really absorb the butter and leave your skin feeling fabulous.

Melt the coconut butter in a saucepan over a saucepan of boiling water. When melted whip it in a mixer until smooth and fluffy. Add the olive oil and coconut oil slowly and mix into the butter. Last mix in the sugar and then just apply to the body. To really reap in the benefit of the moisturising properties, leave on the skin a little longer than usual before rinsing off.
